SONGWRITING SESSIONS
ESTHER SPARKES / CREATIVE COLLABORATIONI love crafting songs with artists who want to discover and develop a sound that's unmistakably their own, whether they're seasoned writers or just finding their feet.
Over the years, I've been fortunate to work alongside some incredibly talented songwriters and producers, secure a publishing deal and take part in exclusive songwriting camps with Universal Music. Those experiences have shaped me as a writer, not just through the songs we've created, but through everything I've learned from the people I've shared a writing room with.
I lead with curiosity, and sometimes I joke that I'm part songwriter, part musical therapist. We unpack the messy, beautiful, complicated parts of the human experience and find unexpected ways to weave them into songs that feel honest and uniquely yours.
Having written across a wide range of genres, I bring both commercial songwriting instincts and a love of exploring the unexpected. From memorable hooks and fresh lyrical perspectives to melodies that make you feel something, my focus is always on creating songs that connect while staying true to the artist behind them.
INSIDE THE WRITING ROOM
Some of my favourite songs have started with nothing more than a conversation, a passing thought or a melody that wouldn't leave us alone.
My approach is collaborative, curious and artist-led. I believe the best writing rooms are the ones where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas, taking creative risks and occasionally following a completely unexpected direction.
And for me, the process doesn't necessarily end when the session does. I'm passionate about revisiting ideas, refining the details and giving a song the creative honesty and attention it deserves to become the strongest version of itself.
LET'S MAKE SOMETHING
I collaborate with artists and songwriters both in person and online, across Americana, Country, Pop, Soul, Alt Pop, Rock, Electronic and everything in between.
Whether you're bringing a fully formed concept, a half-written song or absolutely nothing at all, there's always somewhere interesting to begin.
HAVE SOMETHING IN MIND?
I'd love to hear what you're working on. Tell me a little about yourself, your music and what you're hoping to create together.
