Song of the week
The Song I wrote for my band (and future partner)

We All Have a Few Loose Screws
I think most of us carry around a few loose screws.
Life has a way of leaving little dents in us. Heartbreak, disappointment and old stories we keep telling ourselves and sometimes we become convinced those parts make us too difficult to love.
Screwed Together came from exploring that idea. It's about meeting someone who sees the chaos and chooses to stay anyway. Someone who doesn't try to "fix" you, but somehow helps you feel a little more whole just by loving you as you are.
The title became my favourite part of the song because it works on more than one level. It's about being pieced back together, but there's also a playful wink to the chemistry and intimacy that keep two people connected. I love songs that leave a little room for interpretation.
Why I Wrote It for My Band
Musically, I wanted this one to sit somewhere between neo-soul, blues and country. I actually wrote this song specifically for my live band. After hearing the way they naturally played together, I wanted to create something that wasn't just about the vocal or the lyrics, but a song that gave every musician room to shine.
I intentionally left space for the groove to breathe, the instruments to stretch out, and for each player to bring their own personality to the performance. It's one of those songs that comes alive on stage because everyone gets a moment to contribute.
Maybe none of us are perfectly put together. Maybe the best relationships aren't about finding someone without flaws—they're about finding someone whose loose screws fit with your own.
Sometimes being a little screwed together is exactly what love looks like.
